I thought I would cut and paste my tank description from the main forum to here for future reference:

Tank:
48"x 20" depth x 18" height with corner box for equipment (hmmm that didn't quite work out as planned)

Filtration:
Carib-Sea Aragamax - 3-4"
Live rock - enough to put the corals on
Skimmer - TurboFloter 1000 multi
Carbon - small amount in a internal Fluval 1 filter

Supplements:
Korallin calcium reactor filled with Carib-Sea Geomarine + second chamber
Limewater supplied by dosing pump on a night time
Food

Lighting:
2 x 250W Arcadia fitting burning 10,000K BLV bulbs approx 12 hours per day
1 x 25W blue moonlight on moon simulation

Water flow:
2 x iKS 3500lph powerheads
1 x Tunze 2400lph powerhead
1 x Maxijet 1200lph powerhead

Temperature control:
1 x Visitherm 300W heater - matains min temperature of 28C
1 x B&Q fan - holds temperature at 28.3C on all but hottest days

Control system:
1 x iKS Aquastar computer with temperature and pH module. *Also control the pumps, lights and all the equipment.
1 x 1000W UPS for power cuts.

Think that is about it. *Obviously the aquarium didn't start off with all this equipment. *The Ca reactor, UPS, high powered pumps, iKS computer, moonlight have been added as time went by. * Tank is about 20 months old in total now.

Very nice Simon. Everything looks so healthy. Loads of worms on your Porites! Where do you get your livestock?

:smile::wink:

Thanks for the comments guys. *Still need to master the camera... getting rid of reflections off the front glass is my next task http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Most of my livestock (probably 50% or more) has come from UK Marines (near Leeds). *I live very close and so I generally pop in once a week for a chat and to see if he has anything good. *Just recently over the past 6 months there does seem to have been alot of high quality Acropora around. *I have also had a coral off Ed Miller (dragon) who brought me a fantastic bright green Stylophora the likes of which I have never seen before for sale in any shop. *Alot of the small Acropora frags are from Andy Hipkiss as we have done abit of swapping recently.

I am particularly pleased with the porites worm rock. *I've always wanted one but usually they consist of a 10" piece of rock with a few worms on... I kept passing by these... then 1 week at the LFS he had bought in these small 2-3" rocks which were covered with porites worms. *I reserved one there and then! *6 months later on and it is still doing well with a full compliment of worms. *

When I first started out in the hobby I had a list of corals I wanted after looking through the books. *After going around a number of shops for a few months I couldn't see most of them and thought maybe it was a case of just buying what they had instead (pretty much how I ended up with a Goniopora). *Now after a few years I have probably seen most of the corals on my original list at one time or another. So my advice would be to keep on looking for what you really want. *It usually turns up!

Hi Si,

Out of interest do you feed your worm rock, if so what with, how, frequency etc?

Tank looks excellent btw

I do feed the tank phytoplankton which has been upto 3 times per week recently and also golden pearls which I have cut back to twice per week at the moment as it does seem very potent stuff. I suspect that the tube worms feed well on these product.
