thanks for the replys guys !
Lisa: i could'nt get a decent picture of the star's, the camera wont focus so close thru the glass http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
Lighting is supplied by 2 x 250wt 10k blv's & 1 x 150wt 20k blv, the lights are the compact ones from STM, look bloody awful on the brackets though
You guessed right JSS, its a blue sponge, i posted a better pic in the main forum if you want to take a look !
Cheers
Nick.

Excellent tank, outstanding colours
Something to aim for being a newbie
Hello Nick
Nice looking tank, how does the overflow work good? bad?.
The reason i ask is my tank is drilled but i cannot get the output from 2 x 1060's down the drilled hole. I was just thinking maybe i could add an overflow such as yours and adjust it up/down via a valve.
Any thoughts much appreciated Nick.

Hi Overflow(phil), the overflow works just fine. occasionally it will get air in the u bend you will have to start (re)syphon to get it going again, but that only happens about once a month.
It can be a little noisey though, usual plug-hole syndrome http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif Can be cured easily though.
I can post up some pics if you want.
nick.

Nick what sort of siphon box are you using, homemade or a schuran type? If its a homemade job how about some pics/diagrams?

Hi WetWeston,
Its a Amiracle box, slowing into an Amiracle sump. Although the sump will be replaced in a couple of weeks.
The syphon box was modified slightly to make it sit lower in the water, plus egg crate/small amount of filter floss in the 2nd chamber of before it goes down the tube. Otherwise it sounds like a drain !
If you do a search I am sure you will find some pics I posted before.
If not, shout and I will snap some more !
Nick
