Specs are:

36"x15"x18" been running for 4 weeks, I was initially running it on a tricklefilter and fluidised bed filter (matured on my previous tank) but I have phased these out by removing media each day of the four weeks. Now just 12kg of live rock and a DSB in *the main tank and the 2 in the sump( 1 x 8" 1 x 6"). Just got a 6 x 2 x 2 tank to cut up and make my 5x18x20 Panoramic tank which I hope to have done around April / May. 1 x 150 10000k arcadia halide I have another I just need a 10000k bulb for (bit skint at the minute) 2 x actinic 03 tubes 1 x triton for a 2 hr midday burst.
Berlin skimmer with 1060 pump, another 1060 for the return to tank from sump. Maxijet 1200 and 301 powerheads in tank for extra circulation plus lots of hidden pipework on the return with *5 exits into tank. 2 x 300 watt heaters on set slightly lower than the other as a failsafe.
Not as impressive as most on here but I love it all the same http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Take the Mickey - were not like that on here!!

I think your tank looks excellent - Mine is only slightly bigger 36"x24"x30"!!!! and i view mine from both sides - lounge and kitchen! I do feel a bit "small" compared to the other tanks on here so I know what you mean!!

Few pics on here in Photography.

How are things Chris nice tidy setup if you ask me and admirable that you give it a go at the old DIY found this hobby to be so much more enjoyable now that i try and build everything myslef...been drilling holes in glass at present haven't tried on the main tank as i'm too scared but i've drilled about 4 now without failure...your tank looks real nice and i like the simple sump i was glueing extra parts to my sump today and now wish i'd kept it simple.Speak soon and keep up the good work.nic http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Chris,

Size is not important, it's what you do with it that counts http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

It's looking really nice, a great job! Do you have any fish hiding in there?

Regards

Lisa

Very nice!
I like the rockwork - open and not too much rocks. Well proportioned.

Is there enough water in your sump though - the right hand pump in the left chamber, with the input vertical up, looks like its not flooded properly and sucking in air?

Looks like the makings of a nice display all round, but, as Lisa said... where's the fish? http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

What are you planning to stock fish-wise?

ps. its bigger than my old one, 'twas only 30" long!

Thanks Guys,

Yes I do have a very small Regal Tang, a Bicolour Blenny and a tiny Skunk Clown. This tank has only been running a month or so so I didn't want to go mad. The Clown and Regal Tang are both charity cases along with a Sun Coral. This is one of the smallest tanks I have owned and although I thought I would get along OK with it I now know it is to small. I have just got a 6x2x2 to cut up as I am going to build myself a 4.5" x 2" x 2" Tank with one corner cut off. Have some fairly ambitious plans for the pipework and filter system as I have a big cupboard just the other side of a very thin plasterboard wall I can use. I am expecting to start around April and hope to have it completed for summer.

Its looking good Chris, i thought that my new set-up will be too small (42x18x18) but seeing what you have done with a similar size I am much more confident. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Not really sure yet m8, I have a 6x2x2 to cut up so its going be close to that but with a panoramic style viewing pane.
I am more concerned about getting the pipework sorted and a few closed loops without the hassle of livestock.

Looks good Chris, nice to see you the other day in Aquaworld. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Ps...hope that tank doesn't get binned 6 by 2 by 2http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif That would be a real shame!!!
Cheers,Dave. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Nice to meet you to Dave, The 6x2x2 is going to be my new tank with bit of luck. I am just planning on taking a corner off and drilling a few holes here and there http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Tuan i think thats what hes meaning to do, as that pump is supplying the water for the Skimmer and hes trying to get a bit of a deltec feel for it. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
