View Full Version : Raise those rocks
when perchasing my last tank, a thought ran through my head "its going to take a lot of rock to fill that space", so a freind and i came up with an idea of making a shelf, first i got some strips of glass 50x2.5x0.4cm and stuck them together using silcone to from an L shape ledge, i then stuck it on the rear wall of the tank using silcone, next i got an egg crate and cut into shape for my shelf, next i made legs out of 1" pipe work x connectours to from an N shape, i then glued the legs to front of the egg crate to from a platfrom, then using live rock and zip ties i made over hangs. I used coral branches to form good shapes, i now have good water flow and no dead spots, i hope this will help some of you who are having problems with your aqua-scaping.

Is it my imagination or have you changed the carpet after putting the tank in place?
Or is the blueness a result of some dramatic spill?
Nice tank tho, cant wait till i get some rock an fish in mine.
Just noticed the blue effect carpet http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Must be the blue from the 20k's
The tank is aquascaped in such a way to achieve plenty of swimming space and good flow.
