Hi,
does anyone know of a cheap and effective way of making an overflow box? I have 3" space at the back of my tank to do this with and at the moment no money. I do have a spare fishtank I can partition to make my sump so that is already covered, I just need a way to siphon from the tank to the sump. The main problem I have ids my tank has a lip running all the way round it for re-inforcement and my evaporation covers sit on to of that
any suggestions?

I had same problem, just 3" at rear. All the overflow boxes to purchase (that i`ve seen) were 4" or deeper, so no use. You could build your own, but IMO I`d suggest either emtying and getting your existing tank drilled, or could be an excuse to upgrade:)
hope that helps

Hi, I had the same problem, instead of emptying the tank, drilling etc which was not acceptable in my case I found a way to house the sump above my tank instead of below and used a pump from the main tank to pump the water up and drilled the sump to return the water to the main tank. Might not work for you but it worked for me! http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
