I need to remove three three braces at the top of my 6x2x2 tank to clean them. There is a build up of algae that needs to come out. My problem is that the braces have been siliconed on in such a manner that I have just spent the last two hours trying to prise them off by cutting through the silicone with a thin scalpel blade. Two broken blades and an hour later I'm getting nowhere slowly.

My only other alternative is to clean them out as best I can and then completely seal the braces with my own silicone. I'd rather not do this as the dirt will annoy me for years to come.

All help/ideas appreciated.

Thanks

It's as empty as my bank account at the end of the month, just before payday.
