i use an art thick card, it is toward electric light blue in colour and just tacked to the back and one side.

I can change it if necessary or remove aswell, painting is ok, but leaves no choice for change.

cheers,

lee

I always think a deep/dark blue looks the best.

Find a pic of a real reef and the dark blue you see in the backround is what i'd go for - Get Dulux to do their colour matching thing!!

I have no card on mine cos it is viewed from both sides. The side glass appears to be a mirror to no use for the colour card or paint.

I use medium blue emulsion. 3 or 4 coats with a small roller usually does it.

Try Fablon. You can get it in most DIY stores and there is a very nice blue. It's self adhesive and sticks well.

If you have the patience you can wait until the back is covered in coraline algae. Before that you can Milliput Acropora frags to the glass or even attach Clavularia

Eugene

I have bue on 1 tank and black on the other the black looks really good against the new sand and cleanish LR however it's difficult to see our newly aquired Niger Trigger http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif against it, however something like yellow tangs would really stand out!! http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

i had blue but now i'm going for black...Rio do these faombackround inserts and the Corralline settles on it some much better than it does on Glass ... http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Black for me too, and I have to agree with Mike re the yellow tangs.

My orange cheeked YT looks stunning against the black background http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
