Even jez's baby likes mushroom

This was one of those STM frag bought on the 15th May 2002. I chose it then as one of the 3 heads had an unusual colour as you can see here:

Now five and a half months later to my surprise the whole colony has turned that very nice colour and the base has encrusted nicely:

Amazing difference mushie, I can't believe they are one and the same coral.

Seem like your Fungia is still very healthy, now I remember someone saying a while ago that they should be placed on the sand and judging from yours I may well have a try too in my bare-bottom tank.

Well they all look healthy enough and have good polyp extension though the growth rate isn't that dramatic don't you think ?

As an aside I thought that the STM frags were all supposed to be encrusted before sale ?
