Pete,
Oi, has nobody told you that there is a photography forum on UltimateReef now?? http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
Aside from that, really spectacular pics. I thought you said that your tank was going through a rough spell? It doesn't look like it from where I'm sitting http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Actually it looks pretty darn good to me.
Regards
Lisa
P.S. I think that leather coral on the right hand side needs a bit of a trim http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Wow Pete things sure do look healthy in there, Not quite sure about those frags on the right though you need to be getting rid of those http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Hi Pete,
Looks great *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
How do you find the mixture of SPS and (fantastically large) softies get on, do you have any problems ? don't get me wrong everything looks great, I'm just wondering *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I can see from the fourth picture you are employing a mushroom to look after your frags 24 hours a day, no doubt they are doing so well.
On a different note, time to get rid of the photography section?
Brians famous monti...
just bought one from a LFS as it was looking rather sad with some damage, going cheap 15 quid and thought it would stand a better chance in my tank. So far so good its about 7 inches across. Are they hard to keep?
And what helps ensure their survival and growth.
Very nice. I agree that the frags look out of place, though. Tell you what... I'll take them off you hands http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif And maybe time to frag the leather?
Tim
Hi BLG
Nice One.
Moderate light , if a plating spp. , a general requirement I have found. Very strong lighting can , with SOME spp. bleach them, Start with, say, tank bottom to mid way, if *under 250W halides, for guidance purposes.
Moderate water flow, preferably random.
Good water conditions, *in the form of minimal organic trace readings. Nittrates etc.
Elevated DKH and Calcium levells, ( Daily addition through Kalkwasser, Calcium reactor, or both of same )
Stable temperature in the order of 79 - 82 degrees
Unimpeded room to grow, away from the stinging tentacles of other corals. *
Coral adhered with epoxy firmly to rockwork, and not just " sat in place "
That should about cover it, BTW Good bargain, was the colour Orange of the one you got ?
They are available in a varied range of colours. To date I have collected quite a few of the little critters, in the plating growth pattern.
Some still only small frags, and am on the lookout for more , so anyone with any add, to the below, would like to organise some trades ?
1.Solid Orange ( M.Cap )
2.Tan with Purple Polyps ( Mont. ? )
3.Dark Green w/Purple growth edge ( M.Cap )
4.Solid Purple ( M.Cap )
5.Solid Yellow/Light Green ( M.Cap Frag from Suk http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif *)
6.Solid Blue Plating ( Mont. ? )
Cheers
Brian.

its orange brown with traces of green. so may not be a mont but looks like your picture.
I have sat it in a high flow area where two interval pumps outputs clash just to keep any damaged area flushed with water.
So far it is mid way in the tank under an acropora but the halide (250w) are 18 to 20 inches above the water surface. I have had them lower but any coral bought from the local LFS bleaches even when at the bottom of the tank http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
so looking to stock the tank and then move down.
Must admit its a nice looking coral and just hope it can recover, all readings are 0 with kh around 9-10 and ca 440 480 depending when measured.
What do these corals do when they encounter a rock? to they just grow around it?
I have another plating coral that is growing so fast its scarey and will soon encounter a rock?
thanks guys http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Lisa, yeah it was/is http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif the new skimmer has turned things around somewhat though and i've done a few serious waterchanges http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
yeah that leather is close to 2 foot across it rests upagainst the front and back of the tank and the tanks 18" wide lol
Mark, those frags are my own "private stash" http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Zig, i have no problem with the softies except the xenia as it has a habit of growing on sps http://www.ultimatereef.net/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
bBi - no planning permission m8 lol
blgreef, lights are 250w's

Hi Pete,
Nice looking tank m8, love ur frag section. *That orange monti of Brian's should take off well going by the look of the other corals in ur tank.
I got a bit of Brian's monti about 4 mts ago and its tripled in size.
You might need a hedge clippers to those leather corals never mind a scissors. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif ha ha!
Regards,
Pat.

Si, its 72x18x18 http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif yeah i nicked the rack design off Mark Anderson http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif the rails really help stop the crabs and snails pushing the frags off the sides http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Hi Pete,
All looking very nice indeed, and I thought my leather was big http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Can't see many fish in there if any, what you got m8?
Doesn't look like you've got much space for all those luverly frags unless you're planning on hacking down the leather!
Nice coraline growth too, what reactor are you using?
Keep it up
