Hi All,
Tim, The lights are the one thing that I have been going to change from the start (1year ago) but never got round to it because I'm not sure whether to go for T5's or the Arcadia 3 pendant. At the moment the tank is lit by 3 60" Arcadia marine white fluorescant tube's and 1 60" blue fluorescant tube.

Hey Kira,
What's a chilli? Is it what we would call a fire coral?

Hi Kira, i love the colour of the chilli coral! Is ist not the variety that is usually found hanging upside down in caves/rocky plateau type areas?
cheers

Hi All,
Hi Fishmuffin, I think that the Chilli and Fire Coral are the same thing, when I did a search for Chilli it came up with both.
Hi Bunglehaze, I think that the word usually is about right, when I picked it up from the lfs it was on the bottom of a bare tank sort of on it's side, not looking to good, I did intend on trying to position it upside down in some sort of cave but after trying to fix it into position a few time's only to find that within a few hours it had moved and either toppled over a bit or expanded and moved it's self, I decided to leave it alone for a while instead of stressing the poor thing even more.
Last night about an hour after lights out I looked in the tank and the Chilli was feeding on what looked like anything and everything that it could grab, I chucked half a cube of plankton in turned of pump's/skimmer for half an hour, then went to bed. Today the Chilli is looking a lot better after it's meal, bigger, stronger and a lot more colour http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I will try and take a picture of it tonight if it comes out, it did look stunning.
Hi Lisa, Thank's, that little thing was the size of a fifty pence piece six months ago http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Hi Reefclown, Thank's, so does my Urchin

Hi again,
Chilli and fire corals are not one and the same thing. At least they shouldn't be *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif * Fire corals refer to the family Milleporidae (which are basically hydroids). They are not commonly found for sale in shops. If accidentally brushed by an unwary hand these corals can really sting, apparently it feels like fire, hence the name *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif
Chilli corals on the other hand are softies (and the latin name escapes me at the moment). They are non photosynthetic corals which require lots of regular feedings to survive in an aquarium. *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Keep the pics coming *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Regards
Lisa
