First picture with my new camera on auto-settings. *I need to dissappear for a few hours now and read the manual http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I think tip 1 for better pictures is to clean the algae film off the front glass...

Molly,

No. *You will need to go to a digital SLR so you can use your old 35mm lenses. *As I don't have any 35mm lenses I couldn't justify the extra cost of the Nikon D100 SLR when the CP5700 now has so many of the features.

Molly,

I have K mount lenses too just waiting to be used again. Unfortunately at the moment there is no digital camera available that will accept these lenses. Pentax was developing a digital back a couple of years ago. It was due to be released last Christmas but sadly the idea has now been shelved. I don't understand why, there must be loads of other people with K mount lenses wanting to turn digital (and not have to invest in a load of new lenses). Sigh! It's very frustrating.

Simon,

That's a great shot. The colour reproduction looks excellent! http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I'm looking forward to seeing some more....

Regards

Lisa

what clean up crew do you have in the tank, and also anything specifcaly to turn the sand over??

simonh

The only 'clean-up crew' as most of the LFS seem to classify the animals are snails. I do not have any hermit crabs or brittle stars. Of course the sandbed also has worms, pods and other infauna including red flatworms! http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

On the picture the sand looks actually much cleaner and brighter than it actually is due to over exposure of that part of the picture.

Brian,

Pocillipora sp. *Looked like P. verucosa when I bought the original colony but never maintained the growth form in tank. *When I moved it to the new tank I fragged it down so I could restart it in a more natural growth pattern for the conditions. Picture doesn't quite capture the flourescence of it.
