Wilfy,

Very impressive looking tank! *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

The softie in the middle looks huge. I see your Hawk likes to spend time perching in it, that's neat! You still have your shrimps too I think that maybe the Hawk is saving them for his/her Christmas lunch. What a treat that will be http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif *

Sorry to hear that your male PJ wrasse has vanished *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif is there any more news? Like he's suddenly reappeared maybe? I've my fingers crossed for him.

How's your Mandarin pair getting on? Any signs of spawning yet? As you've probably read I added a spotted Mandarin to my tank a short while ago. He/she has totally enchanted me, such a fabulous fish! When I've finally moved house (and the new tank is established) I'd really like to introduce a 'friend' for him/her. Possibly add another Hawkfish too for my 'shrimp muncher'. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif

Lisa,
The softie in the middle has doubled in size in about 8 months and had several rags taken from it.
The hawk still hasn't been near the shrimps.
There is still no sign of the PJ wrasse.
The mandarins sadly got wiped out by a dose of WS from a royal gramma I added, my flame angel terrorised it and I could not get it out.
Goes to show adding fish to an existing set-up with territorial fish is not easy.
I may add another mandarin pair later but have not yet decided, when I get that very large bristle orm out I will efinitely add another PJ Wrasse.
I toyed with another hawkfish as they are said to be sociable and mine takes "no sh!t" from the flame angel, he just seems to laugh at it and put two fingers up when the flame starts to get bossy.
DId you finally sell and so are on the move, that new tank drean must be getting closer!!

Wilfy,

I'm sorry to hear about your Mandarins *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Did you actually see them covered in whitespot? The reason I ask is that I read somewhere recently that Mandarins were (supposedly) not prone to whitespot because of the noxious mucus that their skin secretes. Rumour has it that the mucus prevents the parasite from penetrating the skin (or something like that). Anybody else heard anything about this??

Lisa,
Yes I did see it, their fins and near their gill was dusted in it but come to think of it not the body.

Wonderful tank Wilfy

You have just given me the inspiration to ad some more corals, was advised most would not survive or do well under floresant lights. I have 2 whit plus a blue.
I have one pussy coral and 1 finger coral but now cant wait to get to Lfs to get more. Just wish there was a better selection near me. Lfs keeps limited stock as not much marine interest in this area.
