After seeing Lisa's photo yesterday I thought I would take some photos of my clams. Alias they just don't make the mark, I think my camera struggles with my halides. Any budding photographers got any suggestions.

Simon,

Gorgeous clams! I think that the pics are pretty darn nice actually.

What aperture were you using there? The shot could do with a bigger depth of field. Use the smallest aperture possible on your camera (which is f11 in my case) and this will give you the biggest DOF. Unfortunately this will make the shutter speed slow so you'll need to make use of a tripod to prevent camera shake. Also try to take pictures using different exposures, that way you can choose the pic that looks the best. HTH http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Lisa, Quote " Unfortunately this will make the shutter speed slow so you'll need to make use of a tripod to prevent camera shake." Also turn off your pumps to make the subject as still as possible. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif Les

simon, it looks like a pretty nice pic to me! I didnt even figure out how to get my(borrowed) digi to focus further than the glass! If I had there would be about 100 pics on here of the contents of my tank but alas they all came out blurred.

oh well i will be getting a new cam soon so I may have better luck in future,(although I still get better pics on my slr)

cheers
