Just my second post (does that count as a newbie?)

Just thought I would say hello.

From my first post I have already gained lots of good advice.....(mostly) *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif *and I'm looking forward to picking all your brains a little bit more.

I have a 24 long 20G Nano reef tank - Jawfish species tank with assorted soft corals, the tank is two months old, I am still battling with algea/cyano problems but hopefully this BB will help me win the battle or at least come to some sort of armistice.

Im 30 yrs. old and new to the hobby.

I got into the hobby after going diving in the maldives although creating even a franction of the beauty of the coral reef is proving much more difficult than I ever imagined !

Anyway, you have a great source of info. and Im looking forward to the ride and if I can get my tank looking even remotely like some of the tanks I have seen here I will be a happy reefer.

Cheers,
Pearly

P.S. O nearly forgot - I have a new *http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif *in my life - my Pearly Jawfish.

Welcome Pearly, just a word of advice (for now) regarding your jaw fish, mind it don't try to escape by jumping out if you have an uncovered tank. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif Les. http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Hi Les,

Advice well given if I may be so bold....Little Pearly went absolutely 'bananas' when I first released it into the tank trying to jump out of the tank.
Fortunatley Id done a little homework and had the tank well covered with some of those awful plastic condensation trays from the LFS.
As soon as Pearly realised he had the entire tank to himself, and a 6" DSB with lots of shells in which he could build he proceded to construct a small 'metropolis' in my DSB.
Now he's finished he seems very happy and is not jumping around at all....In fact hes taking food from my hands already.

A happy Jawfish = A none skity/jumpy Jawfish?

Cheers,
Pearly.

hello and welcome.

also where are you based. A good way is to edit your profile so it appears under your name like many other peoples.

Cheers.
