Hi everyone……. any fellow bubblers out there?http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif?http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
First and foremost I am a lady diver and secondly, I used to keep marine fish until the condensation from my trickle-filter system rusted the hinges on my £800 cabinet and warped the wood on the lid and doors!!!
I used to dive all year round in this country as well as overseas until 4 years ago when my BSAC club disbanded. Slowly but surely all my ex-buddies either got married of, moved overseas (in the oil industry) or got in the pudding club. I'm a lady BSAC Advanced Diver and Club Instructor and qualified in 1990. I have also done various courses in U/W photography including a liveaboard workshop in the RS. I am seriously missing my diving but, like Kenneth Halley’s note, I too can’t be bothered with the ‘faff’ of British Diving although, I can assure you, it’s got as much going for it as any exotic location!!
If anyone once a run down of any of the following locations – just ask!
I have dived the following locations overseas:
St. Lucia / Barbados / Red Sea, various Beach, Liveaboard & Safari trips to Sharm, Dahab & Hurghada / Grand Bahama (inc. shark and dolphin dives) / Bahamas Outer Islands / Bermuda / Kenya / Vancouver Island, BC / The Algarve / Gran Canaria / Malta / Gozo / Cyprus.
I have dived the following locations in the UK:
Moray Coast / St. Abbs / Sound of Mull / Sound of Raasay / The Clyde / Lochaline / Oban / Scapa Flow / Isle of Lewis / Farne Isles / Isle of May / Cornwall
As you can see, I’ve got quite a collection of diving T.Shirts!, I’m going off to dive Trinidad and Tobago this December on vacation and need to get a week’s diving in at least 6 months before then. Tobago has some awesome drift diving (up to 7 knots!http://www.ultimatereef.com/ibv3/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif and my husband, although BSAC certified years ago, hardly ever dives and isn’t interested in a trip before December. Historically I have always gone away with my ex-club or dived on vacation with my family.
Are there any other divers out there who are planning any trips this year that might have a slot free for a mad lady diver that’s really into her fishies???
