Well I've eventually done it... I've registered on the b.b.

I have been accessing this board as a guest for a number of month and reading the many posts with interest. Eventually I decided not to keep my anonymity (actually I'm using the computer at work so kept shying away for registering). Anyway, I've gone and done it.

So what set up have you got? Well 6x2x2 reef system which is about 4-5 years old (prior to this kept fish only for about 10 - 12years).

Filteration - 36x15x16 sump with Reef Master (i) skimmer, trickle filter (it's going soon) and small wet section.

Lighting - 2 X 250 10'000k (1 Arkadia, 1 d-d) and 2 x 58W Arkadia Marine blues.

Water Return - 2 x 1060's, 1 through a 30W UV

Water Movement - 3 x maxijet 1200's on Syst.2000 wavemaker

Peristaltic pump (thank's works) adding calcium hydroxide on timer

Top up - Syst.2000

Parameters-
pH 8.1 - 8.2
Ca 420 - 430
KH about 8
Iodide 0.01
Nitrate 0 - Got the rampant caulerpa to thank for that  ! (Racemosa + Taxiflia)

Problems - Other than the Caulerpa?, flatworms. Flatworms only took off when I started to add phyto. I've stopped the phyto.

Pictures? -- I've taken a couple and if someone can give me an idiots guide, I'll stick them on.

Hello tim, i'm glad you have finally left the closet  the easiest way to post pics is to click on the file attachment/browse bit below. and search your puter for what you are putting on. Welcome anyway m8, have fun.....GT

Gary

Tried attaching the photo's using the method you described (tried this when adding my original post). The picture files are too big (320 KB).

Only got the camera yesterday (obtained for work purposes), so I may need to lower the resolution and take some more shots.
