hey nice tank,
just going to give you some advice with regards to live rock. Would you not rather invest in more live rock than more livestock? just a tip as i made the mistake of putting animals in before enough live rock and when you go to put more in the animals get very stressed when they are being moved around especially delicate coral.
just a tip mate
Jay
Jay,
Good thought. I am in the process of deciding how the final wall is going to look. At the moment I have a space between the rock wall and the glass at the back. From experience of my last tank some 3 years ago, I found it was easier to clean with a gap, now however I feel that I would prefer to have more rock work.
This is the dilemma I now face. I will not be putting any more stock into the tank till I have the problem resolved. Thanks for the advice.
Steve

Mark,
Thanks for the comments.
No i am still running on the T8s at the moment. Am looking at the options of T5 or System 2000 Double Halide with Actinics. Still early stages though.

Nice to see it looks to be doing well. Did you spread it out (frag it i should say) or did you only photo some of it
It is spread out around that area so the photo only show some of it. I ma getting some really amazing extensions on the polyps and more of it is standing up now.

Nice looking tank..
Do the mandarins dance yet? Ours only have done a few times, fantastic to see, wish they did it more..
Jas
We have not seen them dance yet, however the male is rather funny when he tries to catch the female. They chase each other all over the place. This is apparently quite normal and part of the ritual, so who knows maybe they dance soon.
New tank inhabitant.
Lovely Cardinal

Quick Update.

Water goes through a kalk reactor thingy.

You can see the peristeltic pump that pulls water from the RO bottle in the bottom left of the picture.
With RO water stored next to the tank in barrels.

just an update of my sump activity.
http://www.ultimatereef.net/uploads/sksump1.jpg
There are loads of critters, mysids and who knows what else but camera will not take them nicely.
Still trying though
Just a quick update. I have just upgraded the Phyto Station to include a 3l bottle and not just the 2l soda bottles.
Picture with lights on. I cannot believe that the original bottles all started out like the ones on the left.

Just switched the light off so that you can see a little better.
