Just thought I would repost here so more people can read:

Hi Guys -

Setup, for those who are interested, is:

2 tanks: Juwel Trigon 350 (custom drilled and fitted with Sophos Weir System) and an 8x2x2 (same weir system)
Both tanks are fed using a Deltec 6000lph pump via a sump. Sump measures 48Lx20Wx10H. Contains a DSB 5 inches deep with Caulerpa and Mangroves. Lit 24x7 using 2 fluorescents.

Lighting:
Juwel Trigon 350 uses 4 x T5's (2 x starcoats and 2 Narvas), 2 18 inch fluoros, and a compact actinic.
8x2x2 uses a Geissemann System 230 computer controlled 3 x 250w Hallides 2 5 foot actinic tubes.

Top up system: Tunze Osmoregulator fed from an old salt bucket

Skimmer: Deltec AP703

Calcium: Schuran Jetstream 1 with 2kg CO2 bottle - been running for 2 months, no fill ups yet

Nitrate: Schuran Sulphur Denitrator

Phosphate: Deltec Rowaphos Reactor (only been running 3 days but what a difference )

Circulation: Juwel runs 2 x Maxijet 1200's on an Aquamedic surge controller. 8x2x2 runs a Tunze Turbelle and a stream.

Temp: 2 x 300w heaters in sump. I have a Teco RA 680 chiller in my garden which is pumped using an Eheim 1260 running 24x7.

Biological filter: Approx 140kg live rock

Water parameters:

Ammonia nil
Nitrite nil
Nitrate 5ppm
Phosphate 0.1ppm and lowering...
Calcium 480
Alk 5
Temperature 78-81F

I do a 10% water change monthly.

Tanks are stocked accordingly, as of today:

Juwel Trigon 350: All soft corals, leathers, finger corals, malu anenome, pussey coral, bush coral. Various fish - chromis, damsels, clowns, yellow tang, bicolor angel
8x2x2: Almost all hard corals. Acropora (various species), bubbles, polyps, pocilloporas, monti's, etc etc etc. Still stocking so this list will grow. Also 10 x Anthias (gorgeous, one of my favourites) 2 Regal tangs, 5 black and white clownfish.

On top of this, across the tanks are several starfish, cleaner shrimps, dancing shrimps, peppermint shrimps, turbo snails and hermit crabs.

Total system volume approx 400 gallons.

Its my pride and joy

Suppliers:

Equipment: Mostly from Danny at Watford Aquarium, although have also used STM and Shirley Aquatics more recently.
Fish: Almost all from the Goldfish Bowl, Oxford. Amazing fish quality, very good staff, excellent shop.
Inverts: STM, Ed Miller, Goldfish Bowl

The system has been running for a year and a half, although up until the start of this year the larger tank was a FO tank. It never worked that way, so now its all a reef setup, and much happier for it.

Lovely setups mate. I love the length of the larger tank. Good thinking there. The fishes will have a much longer swimming area than the standard 3/4 feet in most of our tanks. :)

What is the very gorgeous pink "thingy" behind the two regals ? (And how did you teach them to pose in formation like that ?).

:)

Hi Kim -

The pink thing is a pocillopora, which I aquired from Shirley Aquatics recently. Its gorgeous, about 8 inches across, and doing well.

Cheers

Like the tanks, wish now i had converted my corner tank into a reef setup.

What make of T5s did you use and how did you fit them into the hood of the Trigon (if you don't mind me asking)

Thanks
