Just got back from a long weekend diving in Cornwall, around the Lizard. If any of you hardy british divers want an incredable experance I would suggest you give it a try, Water at a sweltering 13degrees ;) the underwater life was stunning (a couple of my buddies who had dived in the tropics suggested some of the sites where better than the Red sea :o ). Viz on most of the dives 10-15m :o :D

On one dive on a ship call the Mohegan (forgive the spelling but I think it's correct) in 24-27m the cup corals (a native hard coral) and gorgonians were everywhere, cukes up to 2' and huge swathes of plumrose anemonies. The fish life, from colourful wrasse to 2m congers. Fraid we went into serious deco trying to see it all :D :D .

On another scenic dive around a pinnicle called locally the P**is (because of the shape not because it has a habit of popping up at the wrong time ;) ) there were anemonies of every colour and there was hardly a space left on the rock it was stunning   . AND all at 10m.

Because we went on the neap tides there was very little current and the boat skipper dropped us exactly on each site to see the best bits.

All I can say is give it a go (and its cheaper and nearer than the Red Sea ;) :D )

Will definately make an effort to get down there as i've always wanted to dive it.

Aw, come off it - UK diving is meant to be grim, colourless and tricky... Don't spoil the illusion ;)
