Lovely pic's  :D

I would post a pic of my departed friend  My photography wouldn't do him justice. But promise to add a good picture of a new Jawfish.

I know the feeling exactly :(

Preds are you going to try to collect any fry if they hatch ?

Also how long was it between the broods roughly ?

Roughly 5 weeks Mark. I was going to try and collect last time, but I never saw any of the fry. Must have got eaten, skimmed etc before I had chance. The jawfish actually release the eggs when they feed, so they don't starve, and IIRC they only mouthbrood for about 10 days anyway. I was thinking of somehow trying to get them to release the eggs into the water column (they're bound together in a clump) and collecting them before they hatched. I don't think it'd be very easy though, usually (always that I have seen) they retreat to the burrow before releasing the eggs.

Happened to see a pair today in homemarine, would have brought them myself but they where both showing very blacken marking round the head. Which they seem to get when very stressed :(.

And the fact jawfish have jumped up in price :( I brought my pair for £35 the single jawfish was £27
