The species tank has been setup so that it can be removed from the main reef system at any time quote easily for whatever reason.

Livestock is going to be mainly SPS in the main reef system, kept softies in the old system, however the majority of these are being returned to my LFS. Fish will be 2 * Common Clowns, 6 * Blue Chromis, Regal Tang, Flame Angel, Argi, Royal Gramma, The species tank will hold lion fish.

Cheers

wow mate sounds brilliant...

only thing is that i've heard that the bio balls can be a nitrate factory... or was that something else... will let others comment...

I'm actually about to order a 5x2x2 as well and wasnt sure about sump size - do you find the 36x15x15 adequate?

cheers

Hi, the bioballs can become a nitrate factory, however I think that they will work for the eco-system type of setup, time will tell anyway. Spoke to Rey Meake at Interfish who says that he thinks that it is best to put them in when running a miracle mud type system.

The sump for me was fine. I have a 3" partition with bioballs, then a 22"partition with the mud/macro algae in, then another 3" partiton, again with bio balls and then a 8" partition for pumps etc. This gave me a nice 22 * 15 partiton for the mud/fuge. Biggest tank I could fit anyway with all the other kit under there.

Cheers
