Well- hard to believe its a year since I set up the tank- well will be on 12th October but I am sure you won't mind me being "premature". Can only borrow the digi cam when its free at work.

The tanks had its ups and downs but so far each problem has been overcome- ish.
Most of the red turf algae is now gone- a couple of small patches remain- but nothing too serious- will tackle next water change.
Flatworms are gone.
Still got a tiny spot of recurring cyano- it comes and goes - or moves round- not sure why.
Now got a much bigger skimmer on- an AP850- that has definitely helped on the cyano front- the stuff that remains seems to have gone almost black since the skimmer went on so suspect its being deprived of something and theres less of it.

My outside Eco cooler works well, though with the cold nights get quite a bit condensation out in the outside cabin. I need to add a bit more insulation.

On the tank front- my Alk and Ca seem to have stabilised at 9.2 dkH and 420ppm. My sps all show good signs of growth though some faster than others.
Most notable successes, are my red Monti digitata, blue Acro, Eds green Acro and Red Monti cap are both growing fast too. Among the fish the Anthias are doing well- with a male now very apparent- see other post. Still got my original green chromis- now very fat. And my two Okinawa Gobies lay eggs regularily on my purple Millepora. Not done any serious harm to it- its growing well.
My yellow tang has recovered from its recently as yet unidentified malady- though its a bit thin its getting on fine and feeding well if a little more nervous than it used to be.

Green Acro at 3 months (from Ed Miller)
I'd say its almost doubled in size

Blue Acro and Purple Millepora- 9 months
The Blue is the one originally attached to a rock with the yellow Acro- I had to split to stop a war- luckily the separation was amicable! no one got broken!

Left End
Some of my inhabitants- at this end I have 7-8 small buds of what look like young Styloporas- I beleive this is a case of planular reproduction- some are on the plastics and some on the rocks

Stylopora polyp
This is one of the baby corals- its small but right in the centre of this pic

Nice looking tank.

What is the (Tell me if I get toooo technical here) big round thing to the right of the tang?

In which pic?
In the full tank pic i think you might mean my moon coral- its pretty big.
In the lower pic the red coral below/rightish of the tang is a Red Monti Cap. Its round as its been grown on one of these coral plug things that they use when growing them out in the sea- an Ed Miller job.

Kenny,

Excellent, it's really starting to fill out now!

It's good to hear that the tang is doing OK and those Anthias are looking particularly nice. B)

how do you find the red monti growth wise in your tank.?

The red Minti Digitata- if thats what you are referring to as I have a red Cap too. Its fast growing- this was originally a cutting from Simon Clark in Fareham- I have (unintentionally) fragged it about 6 times now- and it jsut keeps going!. I notice round the base that its starting to encrust well- this has taken a while but its there now.

You can see how its grown - this was it about a month or so after I got it-

Funnily enough just came across a pic taken in Feb of the purple Millepora and the blue and yellow Acros
Its funny how you forget how small they were originally- I tend to think the mille has not grown!

I do notice though I have a rather white bald bit (one small branch) under the Millie- its not dying back in the rotting sense- like RTN- it looks a bit more like its been stripped- I hope I aint got a nasty crab- had a few in the year- that appeared from no where. I've not stocked anythingother than a few small frags for a good few months. Will need to keep an eye on it though- might take some frags soon.
As its right underneath the main "table"- anyone got any experience of these- do they die back underneath as they get deprived of light. My Stylos tend to go a bit like this- but the tops are so over grown that there is almost no light to the base- it does make them rather fragile though!
