Stunning tank

Do you fiind you have to move or frag the corals regular to allow more room for growth?

loverly colours a real credit to UK based reef tanks.

Will look forward to the "project 2004!" photos!

Hi Cam,

Thats beautiful. Well done.

It really does not seem like 2 years since I met you in Shirley Aquatics when you went to pick up the tank.

Will you be staying on the island when you move?

Thanks for your kind words everyone, glad you like my effort.

Keith, yes we are staying on the Island. My wife's family are all here so I think we'll be here for a few years more yet.

Cisco, That particular coral grew from two small frags that I saved from a colony that was dying in my old tank (thanks to a load of kalk getting dumped in there by accident). I have already split it once but it has grown huge again. It just seems to be balanced there although I don't know how much longer it would last if I were not moving soon. If it snapped off now it would trash a lovely purple coral underneath it

Sparky, I do frag corals regularly. In fact the left hand side of the tank had a huge colony growing on top of the rock work but I recently took it off and sold it. The left side looks much newer than the right as after the big acro went I did a bit of fragging and re-siting corals. Several of the new corals are just placed there in 'holding positions' awaiting the move. I have a nice table acro that is just begging to be placed on a nice branch or outcrop.

Cheers,

Cam.

Cam,

Fantastic tank! A real credit to you.

How are you getting on with the Heinochus? A lovely fish indeed.

Good luck with the house/tank move.

Lisa

Looking great Cam.

Is the Regal still doing all your fragging for you?

Cam
02-02-04, 11:13
Hi Lisa,

The bloody Heinochus is a real pain in the bum! It has taken a liking to sps polyps so it's days are numbered. I am currently trying to trap it but if that fails then I'll get it when I strip the tank down in the next few weeks.

Preds,

Yes the big bugger is still as clumsy as ever

Cheers,

Cam.

Its nice to see my apprentice   has the recognition he deserves.

We all complain about LFS on the main land with regards to stock and equipment that they hold, and the truth is most of us are only a hour or so away from one of the premium shops. In Cam’s case the local shop is less than desirable and if he wants to get to a good shop it means a trip on the ferry and an extra £40 to journey cost.

The tank is a credit to Cam's dedication to the hobby.

The new tank is going to look lovely with those 10 x 400watters over it "only joking Tracey"

Lovelly tank Cam. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh

Paul

Cam
03-02-04, 06:16
Paul,

If you want to see it in the flesh then you have got about 2 weeks to do so, after then it's getting stripped down and the contents moved to a temp home. Davidc from this board will be coming down on 6th/7th of next mnth to take the old tank away.

There will still be frags available for you though as and when we meet up to sort out the water containers. Who knows, perhaps MY MASTER will pop over to lend a hand and bring me some of those nasty blue bulbs that turn your corals funny colours    ;)

Cheers,

Cam.

Cisco,

The stock is being moved to a friends house for a while until the new tank is built at the new house, then it will be resited there.
