Need a 52" widescreen TV to read this post, but apart from that it's looking pretty good.
Notice you can see a room through your tank, is the tank being used as a room divider or is it placed in a wall.

looks good m8 one thing though,IMO the mandarin should have waited until its matured properly as they need plenty of live food which will come from a mature system, just keep an eye on it..FISHMAN...

To answer you all so far, the tank is set into the wall so it can be viewed from both the living room and the dining room, most of the fish, live rock, sand and water came from my existing set up (a 4'x12"x18") so they should be ok and the tank is not full just yet as i'am getting the 4' tank ready to go in as the sump ie. dividers for a deep sand bed. I will post more pics when i learn how to reduce them in size properly so any help would be greatly received.

Hi all, I need abit of help with one of my regals. He does not swim about that much, he is not eating very much if at all, he does not seem to be able to close his mouth, he cannot raise his dorsal fin, his colour is fading more by the day and his gills are ragid. It is definately not the water condition as it has been tested and nothing else is affected.

Any ideas greatfully accepted

Thanks.

Oh dear... the poor regal looks in a real sorry state. How long have you had it? Was it like this when purchased?
I don't have regals but that tang looks like it needs lots and lots of greens! Have you got much algae growing in the tank? What are you feeding it - any seaweed or other 'greens'?

I've had the fish for about 6 months and it was part of a set-up that i purchased and was in good condition then. He is one of three regals and is the only one with any problems. They are all fed well with green and purple sea weed every day on top of frozen foods.

Could it be getting picked on by the other regal`s ?as 3 in the one 6ft tank seems to many in my opinion

This fish is the middle size fish of the three, one being about 2-3" in length and the biggest being about 9-10" in length. The two big regals were bought at the same time when they were quite small so i was told. I have not seen anything having a go at the fish but i dont know what happens at night as he sleeps deep in the left hand side rock work.

Philip,
any idea why the snails are above the waterline ? It's telling you something, but not sure what?

It is bizarre that only one fish is affected. It would suggest that it is a problem with the fish and not the water. So does it have anything stuck in it's throat? What colour are it's giills, whats its poo like?
More info the better we can help
