OK,
Now some of you may have seen my previous set-up on my webshot page;

Well, that's now no more!

Darling wife decided to redecorate, and the tank didn't go :unsure: !
So, I decided to sell the existing corner tank and go for the Trigon 350 bow front stylee instead!
Tank is sold, walls are painted, Carpet goes down on Monday, new suite on Tuesday, and Tank installation started on Tuesday!! :thumbsup:
I have changed my plan from 2 sump system to 1 and doing away with the centre brace. Using inserted frame same as another post in here shows! Thanks!!
I'll use the centre brace to make a sliding shelf, where I plan to put the relays, timers and PT100 thermo controller from my old tank.
I've purchased a diamond core cutter and I'll put a wier and overflow in the tank, so I only need to switch / relay control the return pump!
There are 2 x 36" lights and 2 x 24" lights in the hood and I plan on putting 2 x 36" T5's in as well. There is no cooling system, but I'll put a fan in the lid to extract the heat.
Any further ideas or mods, that you can think of would be appreciated!
I know this is probably a small project to some, but its the biggest aqua project for me to date!
Thanks,
KennyD
I'll post the addy again when I update with progress!

hi,
If possible get a Metal Halide. I know people that have had problems with the T5's with regards to algae's.

I cannot use halide as the lightspill would upset the BOSS!
She who must be obeyed! :bow: :wub: :D

I use T5's on my tank and haven't had any probs with algae. I went from halides to T5's so i could put the lid back on my tank. I was also going to use t'5's on my trigon but now have a lovely halide unit for it. I would say algae usualy occurs when your water quality ain't so good!

OK, So now the plumbings all done, I've cleaned the sand, (you would not beleive the amount of iron oxide I took out with a magnet!)
Lighting is in place (2 x 36" T5's, 2 x 36" T8 Strips and 2 x 18" + 1x T8 in the sump), the base rock is in and I'm almost ready to add my DI and salt!
I have a 4 foot tank where the inhabitants are having a holiday, so I have some live rock and nice lively sand to add to the tank and sump!
You'll notice the weir at the back left! Hopefully not too noisy, but I won't know until I fill it huh!
Next pic will have H2O!!

Just thought I'd give an update.
I replaced the centre strut, put in my sump ( Due to space, I put in a small spoiler to take initial force / current out of the incoming flow).
It has been started and stocked early due to my reserve tank going a bit sour (pH, Nitrite and temp are fine, but lost 4 fish :angry: )
I was @ the Scottish meeting and my thanks to Anna, Kenny H, Carolyn etc for the frags and sand donations! Everything seems to be going OK!

Here's a pic of my overflow (note the serated edge, prevents gurgling - but unfortunately not from the pipe itself :P )

Yes Here ya go!
Note the baffler on the RHS! It disperses the flow from the pipe and the bubbles don't travel as far as well.
The elctrics will be resited to the LHS once I get my new 10 socket Gang. (There is a glass plate protecting them from the water ATM! :thumbsup:

Nitrite = 0!
I've put some more Mex Red Legs and Turbos in, but won't be adding anymore until after the holidays!
