A quick piccy of my new reef since moving house and breaking down my old one. The tank specs so far:-
4*2*2 Clearseal tank and cabinet
Fluval 304 as a Rowaphos and Carbon chamber
3 Powerheads and 1 ugly internal filter, just temporary ;)
Deltec MC600 Skimmer
4 T5's, each bulb at 54w
3 T8's.
Trigon Heaters x2
Approx 60Kgs LR
Live sand bed
As for inhabitant, 2 TMC Percs, 15+ red legs and 30+ Turbo's. A couple of softie frags.
Will start to stock up a wee bit more next week, mainly softies, the odd peice of LPS...
Any opinions...

Tell me about it mate!! I had serious problems with diatoms. Probably due to the fact that i didn't fill with RO. A good phosphate remover and plenty of flow should do the trick. Mine took about 3-4 weeks to die off
Love the aquascaping, gives the fish plenty of room too swim and looks great too.

Thanks. That was the idea of the aquascaping, to allow fish such as tangs plenty of open water. Looks a bit different to other reefs too

Just thought I would post an update. Gone are the T8 tubes I ad and added is a Arcadia Lumiare T5 unit. This enables me to house 8 T5's over the tank. 4 whites and 4 blue. I'm really pleased with the result, looks really bright.
I've had a little shuffle with the rockwork and added a few more corals and a lovely blue sponge.
Any comments?
Thanks,
Will

An update of how the reef stands today.
Going through a cyano outbreak at the moment, mainly in the dead spots. Sandfisting hermits and starfish seem to be dealing with it.

The sponge has been in the tank for almost 2 weeks now and is already showing signs of new growth. Really pleased that its doing well. the other pieces in the LFS turned white after only 2 days

My pride and joy. Been in the reef for just over 2 weeks now, eats almost anything, not polyps though YET!!! He/She has even munched his/her way through a few aptaisia in the reef, I didn't know they eat them, but hey - he/she does! :D

Thought I would post an update of how the reef is developing.
Unfortunatley I had an outbreak of ich, my Yellow Tang and 2 Percs came through it Ok, but after treating with RX-P for over 2 weeks, the Emp, which was showing signs of recovery dissapeared :( . I had to strip the rockwork back to find it, but when I did, the hermits had beat me to it
Anyway, the tank is now totally different and all inverts and fish seem to be doing well :D

The right side is less populated with coral, but gains its interest from the cave and reef atoll
