as promised i posted some pictures of my tank but took ages to down load the pictures so here is my tank spec aquamedic percula 120 bow front tank in silver the tank has been running now for exactly 2 weeks everthing was transfered from my old tank(i really do like the bow front tank) i have 3 closed loop systems on the tank the front one ond the bottom back one is powered by the standard am 2000 power heads that came with the tank the top closed loop at the back of the tank is powered by a new wave 3000 pump the return pump another am 2000 powerhead has a t piece on the outlet into the tank to divert the water flow left and right along the back of the tank there is no gravel/sand in this tank gone for the bare bottom look but hopefully buy a few more pollips to cover the base of the tank the halide is an aquamedic starlight future 2x150w with 13000k bulbs the light unit is not the standard aquastarlight that should come with the tank because at the time of delivery aquamedic didnt have any in stock so they sent a starlight future instead which i was told should be another £300 but the price would still be the same(so thats my bargain) the rest of the tank is standard im running a 30uv powered by a 1500 power head which is in the recirculation chamber (right side of tank) the outlet of the uv falls over some filter floss which sits on top of the bio ball chamber the heater is a 300w hydor the new unbreakable ones i think thats about it

new addition to the tank at the weekend in the shop it was labeled up as an exquisite wrasse but to me it looks more like a scotts fairy wrasse what do you think it is its not really a good picture always on the move but the green is a lot more intense when looking at the fish

hi del
yes i was going to sell it all, i had deals in place for most things but when it came down to the crunch i didn't have the heart to do it i bottled it a few of the fish ive had along time i know it sounds daft but i got to attatched to them more so the clowns in the hope they will lay eggs again :) so in the mean time im after a ritteri anemone for them but thats another story they won't go in anything else

Would you recommend this tank as I have been looking at this one. The only thing I'm not sure about is that it has no sump but instead the unit on the back housing skimmer etc. I would like to see one setup somewhere but haven't found anywhere local that even sells them !

Where are you based lasbrisas? There are plenty of Perc owners around (inc myself). I'd defo recommend the tank.

greg

hi greg
the wrasse was reef safe never touched a thing the trouble was he was always in your face if you know what i mean i used to put food in and the wrasse would just eat and eat the other fish hardly got a look in he used to fly around the tank which also unsettled other fish

Hi Nick. The fairy wrasse is fine he swims all over the tank with my other 2 wrasses a leopard and a neon. As you say he's a greedy sod eats anything you put in the tank he even eats algae sheet. The wrasse are a fasinating fish when its a certain time they go to bed and at a certain time in the morning they get up. They dive into the sand and there gone until the morning. Regards Eric

not incredibly close but as no-one else has mentioned closer, my lfs canterbury koi and aquatics in errr canterbury has a perc 120 set up to look at, next to a perc 90 if you're ever in the area.

scar, seriously good work there fella. all those corals, do you add anything??? what are your params like i.e ca, kh and mg. didn't see you list a stirrer etc etc etc.

hi scoob
thanks for your kind words all i add to the tank is tmc iodine 2 drops every day its the lugol type and i add 2x10ml of calcium the red sea brand that is all apart from a 6gallon water change every week again using red sea salt to be honest i dont even know what my levels or parameters are everything looks fine so i just leave alone ill probably get shot down for doing this
