View Full Version : Praziquantel
has anyone used praziquantel in a reef tank (sometimes used as a worm/fluke cure)?
If so, any side effects?
Thanks.
Chris.

I have looked up PRAZIQUANTEL on the web, as its supposed to be a treatment for trematodes.I have a Bluethroat Trigger with one on its eye.I have read American reports saying its OK. Do you know where I can get hold of some ?
Try mailing New Era Aquaculture I think they used to import it.
If not your try your vet
It may well kill the parasite but the eye is likely to remain cloudy after treatment.
It's not safe with annelids, clams & other bivalves, urchins etc so it's not so hot for treating a reef. Better to remove the fish and treat in a separate tank or incorporate into the diet and target feed the infected fish.
