Hi was taking out some rock tonite and noticed wot looked at first like some sort of jelly fish looks and swims like ray minus tail and white to see through it is now settled on the glass and looks very similar to a a skin scraping only thing i can think of to describe it abt 1 pence piece size any ideas? :wacko: vic

how old is the tank? I had something like this in my tank when it was a couple of months old...

i bought it second hand so is over a year now i got the water with have u any idea good or bad ? you still have it as i went out for a while tonite and its gone and think it would be almost imposible to spot it again vic.

Its not un-known for small jelly fish to come in on live rock… and survive for a wile...but very un-likely after a year... :angry:

Would of been nice for the camera to been around at the time... ;)

Sounds like it could be a sea slug. Some of these can swim freely by rippling their skirt.

wish i had a cam but i dont know abt a sea slug and id say it was no more than thickness of A4 paper when it was against the glass looked very strange but when swiming very graceful

Sounds to me like a clear flatworm, did it glide over the glass? your description sounds like it, was it paper thin? I used to spot the odd one sometimes but eventually they disapeared.

flatworm or nudibranch sounds the most likely.

yes steviezan did a search and i think your right abt the fat worm should i get it out iof i see it again or leave it be

Check out the thread 'white flatworm' by blodger.
I think this is probably what you are talking about.
They appear from time to time in my system but don't seem to cause any harm.
