Clam Id

Got this massive clam from one of my LFS's today, its massive ! Its not like a nice Maxima or anything as its colours arent as nice, but I should imagine a Maxima that big would cost a fortune !! it must be over 10-12 "

Anyone ID it for me ?

Im going to go for squamosa (tridacna squmaosa), I have one just like that, and I always thought thats what it was.

Had it about 18 months, grown quite well since ive had it, id say probably doubled in size. Seems pretty hardy, always been on the sand bed under 350 watts.

i heard clams in the wild can live for a hundred or more years :o don't know for sure but on seeing them on the GBR they get HUGE!

Yeh Its a squamosa all right, easy to keep by clam standards. Best placed on the sand. Should get to about 16 inch. :thumbsup:
