Run Run quick!.... it looks like yellow polyp to me..... they spread alarmingly fast ... nice if you are into that sort of thing....

Not considered a pest by most.... (not me)

Does it move, shrink or retract at all?? Curious, as it looks like a dead trumpet coral skeleton to me

yeah - looks like a trumpet or maybe a torch skeleton? has brown jelly/algae on it too by the looks. Got any hermits in there - might tackle that hair algae....

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated

So it's dead then? :( , it obviously came in on the live rock, and no it does not seem to expand or retract.
As for the hair algae i am hoping that the six Turbo's i have just introduced will take care of it, though i do not think that they will tackle the larger stuff.
I am not really sure why i started getting the hair algae, but i guess that it is feeding on phosphate from somewhere.

The tank (Perc 90) was filled with RO water (4 stage) on the 3rd of Feb.
Live rock (28kilos) added on 21st of Feb along with Rowaphos.
1st of March 20lb of Aragalive sand added (could not decide wether to go bare bottom or not).
8th of March 6 Turbo's and 6 red Legs added along with a Blood shrimp.
Very small amount of frozen food now given twice a day.

Temp 25.2
PH 8.1/8.2
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2.5
Ammonia <0.25
Phosphate 0
SG 1.026

Lighting is Ocean Light 150 + (10 Hours Halide and 12 hours actinic per day)
Turnover is approx 32 times per hour.

Am i doing anything wrong?

Peter.
