Hi everyone,

I've been doing a bit of reading on Andy Hipkiss's site and it would appear that my alkalinity is out of balance. Here are my readings:

Calcium 450ppm
Alkalinity 9dkh
Magnesium 1350ppm
ph 8.0

The tank is 5 months old and contains mostly sps frags and a few lps and softies. Fish bioload is light.

According to andy's calculator my alkalinity should be 11.5dkh. What is the best way to raise it?

Thanks

Sean

Sean

I would leave things as they are if it was my tank. A lot of people would like to have readings like yours.

sean i agree with kevin i would leave well alone :P
its not that far away,if you want do a search on baking soda to raise it(got to be baked in oven first IIRC.)

I would stop worrying ...leave well alone...if you can keep constant at these readings then

Right then, I guess I'll leave it be :D

I wasn't worrying about it, everything in my glass box looks aok but sometimes the quest for reef perfection just takes hold of me :D

Thanks everyone
