Please can somebody tell me what urchin this is?
I was sold it as a pencil urchin but was not sure as ive never seen a pencil urchin like this before.
I am getting rather concerned as it keeps shooting my fish with its spines my regal being the main one.

Hi Scoff
Don't know what the latin name is, but common name is Zebra Urchin. I have one of these in my reef set up. Very reef safe as far as my experience is concerned. Super animal, doesn't bother any of the fishes or corals, will wave his spines about if touched is all.

Recent pic of the underside of mine.
