i have just noticed a small sea urchin and was shocked to say the least.
its cool when stuff like this happens im still excited!!!
only i know nothing about it, is it dangerous do i feed it will my inhabitents eat it?
have no idea how it got in there. i did buy some live rock the other week but the was no holes, caves or crevices big enough for it? The rock was thoughrally checked at the shop and then by myself when putting it in.
can they retract size?
thanks
i am hving trouble with getting pics up?
i put in the exact url that it told me i should?
Can't see no picture.
I'm interested as ive found 2 in mine and they are growing fast. They are a light brown colour and about 2 inch.

no joy with the pics ..............:(
but mine is about 1.5 inches, black with white around the base of the spikes and white tips
Sounds like a Diadema urchin (or long spined sea urchin)
Fantastic little creatures that live on algae on Live rock or the aquarium glass. If you dont have any algae yet, try giving him some boiled egg white once a week but watch out not to touch him as they have venomous spines
 Phil
