hi after being inspired by neil's 6 gal nano i decided to change a 11gal jewel rekord 60 into a nano with the same princpals as neils tank.
The Tank
2*1*1 totaling around 11 gallons
a closed loop like neils consisting of a Maxi jet 1200 and 600 which i had lying around using flexi piping not pvc as i cudent be bothered to order the pvc.
will hopefully have around 5-6kg of live rock and have placed fine coral sand in the base with some live sand hopefully this will seed all the sand.
planning to upgrade the lights in a few weeks will have a right game trying to chop the lid apart to fit T-5 pc
planning to stock with mainly shrimp and crabs and coral frags. not sure about fish at the mo not sure whether its worth the risk.
heres the first pic of the tank
cheers neil BTW what is it with neils and small tanks

Looks like a very neat job, where did you get the grill type stuff on top of the divider?
not entirely sure why, but i've really enjoyed this thread
Nice one!!!!
I can see a trend starting here.
Keep us posted.
We should ask for our own forum (any mods listening???)

 where do you get the acrylic grill from? I have never seen it for sale anywhere.
UDA have it on there website, as i expect most of the sponsors do
hth
these small tanks keep giving me ideas...
@trev....can you post a link to it....all I can find is the square aquamedic grills.....are you talking about those (as in the comb edge to the rear panel)...???
If so...any ideas where the large acrylic sheets can be purchased for the back of such a tank....looked everywhere and the smallest sheets I can find are something like 4'x6' at about £35 a sheet....a little big I thinks.
UDA DIY page (http://www.ultimateaquatics.co.uk/acatalog/DIY_.html)
there about half way down the page IRC,
if you need acrylic sheet, go to your local plastics frim and ask for an off cut.
