Click here to visit my gallery (http://www.siliconpixel.com/gallery)

My gallery contains a load of pictures of the design, build and stocking so far. Here are a couple of pics to get you going though (same as on my gallery site).

I built the cabinet in my workshop - it needs a few bits finishing off (like the inside of the doors and the trim around the bottom and top of the tank.

I hope you like it

Nice. Very nice. Your tank has huge potential and looks very organised and well thought out. Well done!

Funny that - a few people said the same thing about my workshop when I built it! ("no sawdust? - this isn't a workshop!"). Different story now though!

There's a little more info on the system in the comments on my gallery site.

The tank on the left is a salt mix tank - something like 13gal (must measure it again). I've got a second hand Eheim 1250 in there turning over the water via some tubing and a couple of ball valves. This lets me direct the water into the sump at water change time - the idea was for as low maintenance as possible but without going for an automated system (might do something in the future though when I have more experience).

I'm not quite sure of the water change proceedure yet though - whether to pump 13 gal from the sump/display to drain (there is a section in the sump that goes straight to drain through the cabinet, through the wall to an outside rainwater drain) and then replace with the new water. Trouble is, the available sump capacity is quite low as the refugium takes up most of the space.

I'll probably end up pumping in the new water to the outlet end of the sump and draining from the inlet end to retain as much of the new water as possible.

Very nice indeed :)

I do like open topped tanks, they have nice clean lines and the cabinet complements it perfectly, a real credit to you.

Does the vent on the wall at the bottom left side of the cabinet serve a purpose? Just curious.

Nice site aswell. :D

cheers Daz

Very nice tank, looks very clean and modern, very impressed with the sump set up!

So thats what happened to all the live rock I saw at heritage!

Individually that rock looks great but i still have to say it doesnt stack too well with all the irregular shapes

Well, actually - I have planned to make a top surround but not done it yet.

The vent is just an existing fresh air vent for the fireplace in the room.

Yes - still need to play around with it to get it looking right.

Will move the blocky bits around a bit and make a base.
