Hi folks, i am sure many of you know what I am trying to acheive with Reefworks and as part of that I am always on the lookout for new species that would be good to propogate.
The main criteria is that the coral has a moderate to fast growth rate, and is an attractive and popular species. Do you have anything like that in your tank? Obviously if the species is already on our website it is of no use, but if you think you have a coral that would be good to propogate and would be happy selling a piece then let me know. We can help with the postage and packaging too! :D
Species of particular interest are:
Montiporas
Porites (branching)
Soft corals
Colourfull acro's
and any other corals that you think might be good for farming.
Happy Reefing :)

How about this:-

Some form of monti with tiny white polyps, not as good this now in shape cause I broke it during my sell off, but then you would frag it any way.

and to a lesser degree this:-

Again a monti of some sort, but I dont want to break it. It does seem slow growing though.

Hi Craig, that first piece looks like M. florida which i have but M. florida does not have white polyps, any pics with the polyps out?
The second pic I am not sure about, does it have a green coenostenum with more purple margins? Could well be interested in both.
Elliot, could be interested in all of them, what millepora do you mean? A. millepora?
Have you got any pics?
Anthony, I have not tried propogating ricordia but by accounts you should cut them through the mouth. HTH
Many thanks guys. :)

and yes the other one should have a purple rim with kind of strippy green lines inside, I never see that though as it has brown polyps which cover the thing.

This is a nice softie, commonly called "green medusa". I didn`t notice it on your list but would be very popular IMO. Absolutley fluorescent under actinics. If your interested I could get a cutting under way ;)

Clayton,

Can confirm that the Monti in the first pic has white polyps as I have a frag from that colony. Can't tell how I got it but I did and it's quite a beaut! ;)

I have it in the middle of the tank and the overall colour is a nice green rather than the brownish colour in Craig's pic.

Cheers

OK Craig, done. Can you collect the fish as I won't post them, or if you are not too far I could come to you? I will also have to check how many orders I have for fish and how many are left.
Is that Sinularia Danny? And do you know the species by any chance? Would be interested in some of that if the colours good but I have to be carefull as some sinularias carry the most potent toxins of all corals!
I can send you all the packaging stuff, it would be good to get a couple of pieces off of you if thats ok? What do you want for them?
Thanks for the pointer Aladdin. :D
