That is really nice Steve. Love those big fish you've got in there. Two lionfish and two triggers?!? Wow. I don't think anyone on here can boast that fish list. Your corals look really healthy too, how do you keep your water quality so good with those beasts in there? What kind of filtration are you running? Tell us some about your setup mate.
Sean
Thank you very much for your kind words.
I have 4 lionfish in total in there and a bamboo shark and a snowflake eel and a miniates grouper.
I only have 2 external eheims nothing special and my skimmer never gets emptied as it is hanging down (should put it back)
I never do water changes just topups with RO but all the fish and corals that you see on there i have had in there for at least 2.5 yrs.
sorry if this causes contraversy on here - but its always better to tell the truth.

Like the old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I like your tank!
CC
The LR must be doing a great job with those BIG gready fish.... Is the skimmer broken or just not fitted ? It would take a great strain off your rock.
The tank looks great
the pump inside the tank just needs putting back in place .....
thanks for your kind words - thought more people would have commented.
come on ..............
Steve
do you have any snails in there at all, thinking of the trigger and his appetite. does he bother with the corals?
its nice to see someone who goes against most of the books with tough/destructive triggers in a reef. i'm contemplating a baby jigsaw in an SPS system.
craig
did have snails but not any more , hoping they dont turn on the corals.....
they havnt so far
many thanks
Steve
I have never ever done a water test - i have never owned one....
I just go on the activeness and the temprement of this fish
Steve
hoping they dont turn on the corals.....
i'm not sure if thats an urban myth, i've asked a few LFS's and have been given different opinions. if you look in the books they all say triggers (clowns, jigsaw etc) are not reef safe due to invertebrates and the fact that they move rocks around etc but they dont seem to mention corals hence me giving it a go.
wonder if anyone else has had them in a reef
craig
i always just say buy what looks nice and what i want ......
seems to work.
Steve
im going to start do do my own RO soon as well .......
That will make life easier.
steve
Have to say  the Clown Trigger, never thought of adding one into a reef. If you dont have a clean up crew, how do you keep the tank/sand clean?
Danny
just churn up the sand all the time - gets cloudy then clears - then ok.
I feed every other day - half a packet of mussles - half a packet of lance fish and 2 frozen squares of whatever is in the freezer.

You have a very nice tank but I am a little concerned by your laid back attitude, not so much for your stock as they all look superb but it does send out a negative message to newbies. Also if you have a problem of some kind how do you know the cause if you don`t know your parameters. I`m not having a dig BTW it is just the way you come across in type. ;)
im sorry - yea i understand what you mean.
I just am telling the truth , all im trying to point out is that you dont have to beleive and live by everything you read.
I just followed all the rules in the beginning and now it is on cruise control.
But your right if it did crash i would not have a chance !!!!
but 3.5 yrs so far - fingers crossed.
I have spoke to loads that swear by water changes and equipment, but .... I have spoke to loads like me who go mad in the beginning getting to work and then just let it fly.
Thanks for your help and comments i dont mean to come accross funny or laid back at all - I love my system and would cry for months if it all went pete tong.
But as someone said previously - if it aint broke then dont fix it.
Thank you for all your lovely and kind comments
I personally think all your tanks look better than mine.
Steve
Glad you took me as intended  I for one would be interested to know what your parameters such as alkalinity and nitrate were. I understand what you are saying but to me understanding how and why things work is an important part of the hobby. Atleast then you can know how you have arrived where you have.
By coming on here I am sure you will get the bug even more and pick up lots of useful info from people and maybe even be convinced to by a test kit or two ;)
maybe not (in the nicest possible way)
Steve

Can I see a mono, a wrasse (birdmouth?), a foxface and a squirrelfish in the 1st photo too - plus a tang of some kind in the second...... still got em? - thats a heck of a fish load with no skimmer, no water changes and extremely heavy feeding..... don't you think it's unfair on your livestock to risk killing them through not monitoring the tank properly?
yea - they are all in there.
Steve
 tank looks fantastic!its nice to see another person who likes to keep things simple! nick
thank you very much
Steve
Clippo - sorry didnt see your whole post earlier
All I can say is that the majority of the fish that you see in the pictures I had when they were that small you could hardly see the fish.
Im sorry but if what I do is working - why should I change ?
And as for for being cruel how can it be if all fish are eating and are happy ??
hope this dosnt offend you (never meant it to be like that)
many thanks
Stephen

they've grown a lot in 3 years! - which fish are we talking about?
As for other comments, its not cruel, just irresponsible IMO (I never mentioned the word 'cruel' btw - that came from you ;) ). ...shame though - I think if people knew you were taking a slightly different approach, you would find more interest and support... not having a pop, JMO :)
as I have said before - just pointing out that you dont always need to follow the rule books - its just what is recommended to you.
Im living proof that this is the case.
Thanks for your opinion - never meant to cause no problems or anything - I love everybodys opinion.
Everybody is more than entitled to their own opinion.
If anyone would like to ask me more questions on here or in personal messages (i will not disclose who you are)
Feel free at any time.
Many thanks
