i wish...... might calm her down for once in her life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hmmmmm.... having been bought my favorite fish for my birthday.....puffers,,, a porkupine puffer and a valentini puffer which was yesterday 4 minutes ago ive had to make a drastic change of plans for my upgrade,,,
im now going to have a sump built into my fake chimmy breasts feeding 2 tanks either side of it,,, 1 will be a 50 gall 4ft reef tank housing my corals, anemones, green chromis and clownfish and the other side of the chinney beast will be a 6 ft fowlr housing my porkupine puffer, valentini puffer, lunar wrasse, emperor angel and regal tang with lion fish to be added..
questions???
will it work with 1 sump feeding 2 separate tanks....a reef and fowlr... equipment will include 4ft 250 halides over reef tank.... t5's over fowrl... in sump will be calcium reactor phosphate reactor carbon reactor deltec ap850 or 5000 shorty skimmer with closed loop on fowlr with tunze steams on reef tank..
will this work??? any thoughts???????
i run two tanks from one sump but one is 7x2x2 and th other is 18x10x10 for frags
the only prob i can see is that you calnt treat you fish only with copper
but you seem to know what you are doing so you should be fine without
i would go bigger than the apf850 for that amount of water and them big fish though

thats true about the copper thing however in 4 years i havent had to use copper anyway so i think its worth the risk... would a am 5000 shorty be a good enough skimmer ???
i dont know about the skimmer i use a 850

I would not use one sump for both tanks. It's difficult to keep water conditions perfect with fish you want (big puffers and lions). Reef with sps would struggle with nutrients levels from FO tank IMO.
I would go for AM Turboflotor 5000 twin for your fo tank. I have one on my 600l fowlr and I wouldn't replace it for anything else.
my ro unit from ro man.... im getting there

Wow - starting to take shape!!
Real sweetie of a dog you have there! :D
Wow thats really looking great!
I know you were considering options on the setup when we met at the reefers weekend and its great to see a few ideas taking shape.
i hope you are redecorating the walls after painting all that graffiti on them!
looking good there mate, can't wait to see this one finish up.
coupla questions.
are you going to have your sump sitting on that half wall where that other tank is now for all to see, or will it be hidden???
how are you lighting your fowlr??? just wondering what it will look like with 2 tanks visible side by side with a different amount of light spilling out of them of a different colour.
did you block work under each tank or just the one side?

the 2 tank 1 sump plan has gone tits up cos i didnt have enough room behind the plasterboard of the chimmney breast for the electric board and pipework.
so ive finshed the framework of both stands and built the centre frame that will hold the electric board, protein skimmer for the 6ft tank and my computer hard drive(computer screen will sit on top of centre frame).
thanks to danny at watford aquatics for the tanks and advise on all the plumbing.
