Hi All
Due to recently tradeing my seahorses, i know have more or less the equipment to set up my new tank. As you may have guessed it will be 30 gallon, without the fuge or rock displacement, So my question is can i have some pics and specs of your 30 gallon tanks. They do not have to be spot on, so give or take a few gallons. I just want to get an idea of how people run set up simelier to mine, as many replys as possible would be apprciated, Oh and i have been told to read as much as i can on this board, so this is to give me an idea of what i am aiming for.
Please post specs, live stock, equipemtn and if possibel pictures of tank and sump if you have one.
Oh and the filtration i have now actually got is 10 kg of live rock, 2 soon to be 3 powerheads, a prizm skimmer arriving soon, and i am still debating weither or not to have a dsb or just a simple fuge.
Thanks
p.s.
the tank does not ahve to be a reef
if you want to do it cheaply(i know money is an issue here) then dont buy 3 power heads, instead buy an 2nd hand (or new if you can afford it) OR3500 if your just going to be keeping softies and plumb in a closed loop system, or buy an OR6500 if you want to keep sps, then buy a hang on skimmer that you can afford (AM bioflotors are around £50-60 on ebay, and good enough for your needs)
that how i would do it, dont know what equiptment you still own though T5's? halides?

yes i love my banded pipefish the best and most intresting fish in my tank.
it also competes very well for food in my tank has never had a problem getting enough food.. or with the flow from the powerheads. but maybe i was lucky in getting a strong individual. if your considering buying one insist on seeing it feed at the shop becuase if it does theres a good chance that it will survive in your tank thats what i did and mines doin great. im on the look out for a female now to pair them up. i was blasted abit for putting one in my reef tank but just goes to show that the rules arent always right great fish would reccomend to anybody willing to give them a serious go...

my pipefish eats brine just like any other fish in the tank seems to be getting quite fat on it so i cant complain..
also bare in mind that they get alot bigger than clippos bluestripe pipefish so may not be suitible for a smaller tank

Aquamedic Chromis tanks are less than 30 gallons. I put about 28 gallons in mine and there was about 3 gallons displaced by rockwork, so 25 gallons is probably more accurate.
Here's a picture of mine:
