Stupid question,

your 400w aquabays without remote ballasts (LS40LL ) are these just the units without ballasts (ie supply your own) or with built in ballasts?

Cheers

Hi Cyno,
The Ballast and all control gear is within the light unit(LS40LL) and is supplied with a Glass Safety Shield. All you need to supply is a length of cable, a 13a Plug an a Lamp. We do not supply with a lamp as various kelvin ratings and lamp manufacturer options are available with this light unit.
The remote ballast option just moves the ballast and control gear weight out of the light and into a separate box which can be placed away from the light unit.

One other quick question?

are the ballasts electronic or magnetic and what difference does this make?

Hi Cyno,
The Ballasts in the Aquabay are magnetic. Electronic Ballasts are more modern technology, run slightly cooler and allmost silent. They are more expensive and as we are producing the Aquabay as an economy entry level lighting unit do not fit the more expensive Ballast. We will be offering a selection of Electronic Ballasts and Spiderlight Reflectors fron Coralvue at the end of the year.
