hi all,

I just came home and noticed a dead patch on one of my acropora's. I was worried that it is disease and so I have cut up the coral into frags, making sure that i have illiminated all the diseased parts. Have I done the right thing or should I have sacrificed the whole thing! Im worried that im going to loose all my monti's and acro corals to disease. All my others having been doing great with no signs of poor health. Water quality is fine. Its was a new frag and I did not notice anything wrong with it.

There are SPS keepers more experienced than me but my view is that you've done the right thing. Unless you drastically frag and quickly, you risk losing the whole coral. Thats been my experience anyway.

if all others are doing fine... and paramters check out... could be localised issues such as slow/fast flow
