after seein some of the small nanos on here i really fancied having a go at tryin it.... so i remembered that i had a small tank in the shed at my parents house that used to have my tropical platys babies in that one day sprung a leak.
so off i trotted and fetched it back and armed with a tube of silicone i set to work. gave all th joins a good goin over to be safe, stuck it on the kitchen side and filled it with water and left it for a couple of days to see what happens
tank was water tight little to no evaporation etc :D
pic of the tank when it first arrived here

bit of silicone later and the lights on. to be fair the lights are far from great and i'm goin to be replacing them asap with a t5 compact eaither single or double unit not sure which yet thou, tank will be for housing my softy frags so major light aint a concern but if i do get enough then i can maybe try a few hard corals in there see what happens the flow aint great in there at the min as you can imagine so sumin like a small 300-500lph ph will go in as not really after major flow at the min with it being mainly softies like i said but jsut enough to loose dead spots etc

my highly advanced filteration system!!!!! usual up and over method. water is pumped up into the top runs to the right and then down into the tank, thought this would work well as i will be able to get the water to run thru some antiphos, some carbon and then i'll have some polyfilter at the end to catch any crud, this will be easy to change etc and kept out the tank, also with the water dropping back down into the tank it also oxygenates(is that a word) the water with having no skimmer etc. i will be doin water changes 2-3 times a week and top ups every night as required.

as for stockin in there aint much you can put in a 3 gallon tank  but my lfs have got some very small humbugs in approx 2cm i would say and i used to love my old humbug before i broke my old system down so thinkin one of them might make his way into there for a while then once he gets a bit bigger let him run havock in my other tank
