Hello Tuan,
This lamp is a true 14,000k lamp specifically designed by BLV for marine use.
BLV are aware of the concerns of Marine enthusiasts and are producing a true 20,000k to be sold alongside the current Blue lamp. We will have stock of this new lamp as soon as they arrive into the country in approx. 2 weeks.
Unfortunately we have sold all of our 400w S/E 14,000k lamp stock and will not be recieving further stock untill the end of next week.

Tuan,
With new manufacturers offering an increased choice of marine lamp and lamp options in the UK this will start a chain of events which will benefit the end user in what they pay for high kelvin rating lamps. When you consider the cost of a 4200k HQI lamp against the cost of a 12,14 or 20k lamp this cannot continue and believe the price of these lamps will reduce by 20-30% within the proceeding 2 years.
I have just viewed your site and tank set up, have you considered Electronic Ballasts and the benefits they offer?
Regards

Erm... yes, but they are quite expensive still, for me replacing 4 ballasts will take rather a long time for a return on investment.

My first step is to replace my reflectors, moving from spiderlights to reef optix with glass, then the ballasts will be next when they've come down in price a bit more.
