Following recent events & the very rapid need to strip down my reef tank this week, I decided that I couldn't leave this hobby entirely & so decided to set up a nano tank (as quickly as possible) to house my only remaining fish - My first marine purchases, a pair of clownfish!

I decide to use an LAC R338 aquarium as it seemed like a good tank all round, although I will be replacing the T5 lighting with better,higher output tubes, & the internal bio filter will be removed to allow an external filter to be connected up. Apart from that its quite good :lol: Im also temporarily using a Seio 820 pump to increase the flow, although at 3400lph in a 47l tank the turnover is a little excessive (although th efish & corals love it :o ). This hopefully wont be required when the external filter gets plugged in, the standard 400lph unit fitted is a bit pants in all honesty!

During the strip down of my 'big' tank I decided that what ever could not be sold, would then end up in the nano. This meant a lot of LR, & a few softies to make it a bit more cosy for the clowns. After cramming in as much as possible the tank now contains ;

Approx 9Kg LR,
1/4" Sand bed,
2 Common Clownfish,
1 x Cleaner Shrimp,
1x Arrow crab,
God know how many snail & hermits,
Orange star polyps,
Fluro orange Zoos,
Small orange sponge (bit of an orange theme going on here :lol: ),
Small fluro yellow/green Zoos,
9 x Green mushrooms,
And from what I can hear as Im typing this, a bl**dy mantis shrimp too <_< !
Small leather toadstool.

Bearing in mind this tank had to be setup at the same time as when I was just getting to the final stages of breaking the old tank down, it was turned around in just 3 hours :cheers:

Pic of the basic tank (lid not fitted & obligatory Nemo toy in shot!).

Not quite the look I was really after, but the 'wall' of rock at the back has lots of small caves & swim throughs, & the cleaner has already set up his cleaning station in one of them :thumbsup:
