hi,
i am new to this site, but have been keeping marines for the past couple of years .
having outgrown original my trigon 350 i now have fish and corals
in 3 seperate tanks - this is proving to be very time consuming as one of the tanks is at my mothers house!
i have been intending to build a new "big" tank all year but have been too busy with work commitments - but now the time has finally come!
i was wondering if anyone had any advise on sump set ups -
i am intending to have 2 returns from stand pipes in either end of the tank 1 to the skimmer area (eheim 1060 turbo) then via weir to a section full of live rock, next onto a miracle mud area with the second return into this area via weir. i was also considering running a dsb as well in a seperate chamber before or after the mud (but i am unsure whether they would intefrere with each other and 1 of the 2 shut down and become a waste of space!) next to a chamber with water only (which i may use as a seperate refrigium/refuge for unruly fish!) then on to the final chamber with return pumps.
currenty eheim 1060 and 2 smaler eheim (cant rememmber the number!)
to 4 returns using hydor flo rotating deflectors.
tank should be about 1000litres. fish and hard/soft corals.

any comment welcome - i have a very large sump area and am probably going for overkill but i am welcome to any better ideas  .........

thanks

(edited to lower case.........It was a bit loud........ sg) ;)

thanks anyway simon,
i had a long think about it and asked a couple of peoples advice and have sorted final design, i think...........but you know how these things tend to change as you are building them!
