i am setting up a 125g (5X2x2) sump (with 30g resevoir) which will contain a fuge section. Just curious which flow requirement should take priority?

I want to have the fuge "in line" and just fed via flow through the sump.....but dont want the flow to fast through it - or too slow through the sump as a whole.

The display tank is 100g so a flow of just 2000lph may be enough right now to keep the sump flowing but not rush the fuge......but if i upgarde the display at some point i dont want a sump that cant handle a bigger flow.

Any thoughts? one idea was to plumb a 40mm pipe through the middle of the fuge with a ball valve set in it (so that valve is underwater in the fuge- open this up and water will pass through the pipe not the fuge....doable?

I suppose i need to know a rule of thumb flow rate for a sump...and one for a fuge - and see if they are close enough to each other! (hopefully the large size of the fuge will allow for a faster flow yet still time for muck to drop out of the water coloum????

Should add- slight change to that pic is that the skimmer is now an AM 5000 baby and pump driven.....also, point of the resevoir is to be drainable and re-filled with SW mix then brough back on line for easy water changes.
