I have a Deltec PF509 Fluidised CR with CO2...I have just re-filled RowallithC+ media and I unable to get the reactor to now fluidise. There are no air bubbles present...the pump is working, although a little warmer than I would like...I have reduced the amount of media.
The CR will fluidise when angled over on one side but stops as soon as moved upright.
This will be my second pump for this unit.
My question...do you have any idea what can be done? Is the pump likely to fail on a regular basis? What would you suggest as an alternative if purchasing a new unit?
Your help is much appreciated.

Hi

Non Fluidising Reactor

I would suggest you check the following:

Try the pump in bucket to make sure its turning over water.

Check that gravel hasn't got below the performated plate and into the 'funnel 'section.

I cannot remember the names of the different types of media, but I use approx 50% black 50% white.

I have used fluidised reactors for about 3 years now and am still using the same pump.

I'll forward a copy of your e-mail to Stuart at D&D to see if he can help.

Regards

My deltec does this if its been switched off for a bit, i just keep tipping it arround untill it starts fluidising again, i'm sure its bubbles or something interupting the flow. Its fine once u get it fluidising again, doesnt stop unless u switch the pump off again.
