Hi peeps,

not sure which lamps to get for my halide - it's the aquamedic 150+ which has the twin t5 actinics built in - it's the halide lamp I want to replace & the tank is a percula 90

Currently it's got a 13k aquamedic lamp in there, options are:

BLV 10k
Coralvue 10k £ 32.07
Coralvue 14k £ 32.07
Iwasaki Double Ended 6,500k £ 22.74
Iwasaki Double Ended 10,000k £28.54
Radium Double Ended 10,000k £ 46.03
BLV Double Ended 10,000k £28.11
BLV Double Ended 14,000k £ 29.08

I've used BLV before with good results but not come across Coralvue before. Iwasaki and Radium are big in the states but again got no experience of them

Any opinions? I'm leaning towards 10k lamps but open to suggestions from other people using the same kit as me or otherwise :)

Ive been looking into lamps alot lately Si and personally id give the new Blv 14k a go.From what i have read it has a higher par that the blv 10k.It also does away with the slight yellow tinge you get from the 10k and it has a very slight blue tinge but is a very white crisp light.
I think the coral vue 14k are quite a bit bluer from what ive read.Ive got one of the new reeflux 10k's on order with marine lighting at the mo as its recieved good spectral results from Sanjay joshi. It has a spike in the blue and red/yellow spectrum with good par.Id pesonally go with a whiter lamp for higher par/growth and adjust with actinics for personal taste.
Out of that list id look at the BLV 14k,reeflux 10k but again thats just going by reports from the states.I havent really looked into the Radium or Iwaski 10k.Just my opinion though, marine lighting might give a better response.
Depends what your after really a white style or blue lamp.
