View Full Version : Blue Tip Acro - Becoming White....
Hi
I have a Blue tipped Acro...
It has about 7 heads on it, but one of them has started to turn white from the end, and the white is now about 1cm down also... This has happened overnight...
I've checked water params, and all seems ok.
Can anyone advise?? What can I do? Why has it happened??
Thanks
:( looks like a bit of die back!

:( looks like a bit of die back!
Any idea what the cause could be?? All water params look OK.
I had a dKH spike last week, but this was 7 days ago, and I only noticed this today.
Will it recover?? or will it all die??
What should I do?? (ie. what would you do if you were in my position)
Cheers
How long have you had the coral?
What lights do you have?
Is that algae growing over the rocks?

I've had it around 5 weeks
I am running 4 T5's and 3 x 250W halide
There is some algae on the rocks, but all params look fine (tested with Salifert kits).
Phos 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Ca 480
Mg 1350
Any ideas?
Hi It Could Be A Sea Spider Or Another Type Of Pest
i would cut the tip off about 10mm below the lowest part of the die back to hopefully stop it going further. then check you water perameters to see what is out of sinc.also looks like some algae to the right in the picture this could be what is stressing the coral.move it away to somewhere else
